Prior to being placed under anesthesia, we require that every surgical candidate goes through a series of diagnostic testing. We want to make sure that your pet is healthy enough for anesthesia, so we require all patients to have a minimum of baseline bloodwork and an ECG before being cleared for surgery. In some cases, including geriatrics, further testing may be required.
All surgical patients are asked to arrive at 7:30 a.m. where your pet will be admitted by one of our licensed veterinary technicians. At this time, we can answer any further questions or concerns you may have. At the time of discharge, we will discuss any medications prescribed, as well as at home care.
