Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) therapy utilizes a low intensity electrical current to stimulate the nerves which reduces pain. Electrodes are placed on the pet’s body at the site of pain. These electrodes deliver an electric current that will block the pain receptors from being sent from the nerves to the brain. A session of TENS therapy is not painful and many pets actually find it to be soothing.
